To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Sing And Dance With Frank Sinatra, Impex Records is releasing a remastered hybrid mono SACD of the 1950 10″ single recorded at Columbia's legendary 30th Street Studio, Sinatra's first concept album featuring big band jazz. The recordings coincided with a period of health problems during which Sinatra repeatedly lost his voice, ending with his doctor forbidding him to speak for 40 days. In order to complete the album and keep the cost of the large orchestra within reasonable limits, producer Mitch Miller worked with the new, forbidden technique of overdubbing: after Sinatra had recovered, he had Sinatra record his vocal parts over the pre-recorded instrumental parts in secret, late-night studio sessions.
Although Sinatra lost the opportunity to interact and improvise with the band, the result was a relaxed swing album, thanks in part to arranger George Siravo. In addition to the tracks from the original LP, Sing And Dance With Frank Sinatra includes six bonus tracks of previously unreleased material. The re-release was produced in collaboration with Sony Music's Legacy Recordings and Sinatra producer, author and historian Charles L. Granata, who also contributed the extensive liner notes. The SACD authoring was done by Gus Skinas and the remastering by Andreas Meyer (Swan Studios, New York City).
We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
