The House Wife

Many things prompt someone to marry another person Chiedu thought in one of his quiet moments. He is a very meditative person and enjoys sitting alone with his thoughts. He has almost convinced himself that the first point of attraction in any relationship is physical structure which reflects one's aura and corresponds with voice, gestures, gait and perceived attitude amongst others. In some cases, one may not understand the point of attraction. In discussion with friends, he would enquire of what their point of attraction is, things like I just like the person would be the response. Few people are courageous enough to disclose that they are attracted by the back side or the front equipments of the woman in question. What prompts likeness between a male and a female that most times lead to marriage, may not be significantly obvious to the parties. Chiedu knows the ephemeral nature of physical features and would make decisions beyond them. People have pointed at skin colour, shape of leg, facial built and others as their promptings for likeness making them want to have children that bear those features. Nkechi was told by Chiedu that he wanted tall children which prompted him to approach her for friendship which he hoped would lead to marriage. Nkechi is a tall slim girl with chocolate skin colour. She took after her grandmother. Her father is also tall and slim. He added some flesh as he got older. Perhaps Nkechi will add some flesh as she gets older. Nobody can be very certain of how one would look as the years go by. One thing that was certain for Chiedu is that Nkechi will not reduce significantly in height in future. The likelihood of giving birth to tall children may also depend on invisible decision makers like gene which may be recessive or dominant. Before Chiedu met Nkechi, whenever he went to church, visited play grounds or found himself in the midst of young people, he would look out for tall girls. He specifically paid attention in the church because he wanted to marry someone of similar faith. The doctrine of their church emphasised marriage among themselves since the family is a mini church. He thought that common religious belief could reduce areas of friction in behaviour and promote family unity.
