Some may come as tourists, to take in all the sights, Some may make a scheduled stop, then board connecting flights, Some may come on business, to tie up some loose ends, But I thank God we're the lucky ones, for we come just as friends. The lure of Ethiopia has called to me again, As I leave behind the Emerald Isle, with all it's wind and rain. To meet with those I've come to love, too numerous to list. But most of all the children, it's the little ones I've missed, If love was ever captured, through God's amazing Grace, I know I'd get to see it, on the smile of every face. They live their lives in poverty, although their free from blame, But the joy we find in all of them, puts us all to shame. A smile from any one of them, could melt the coldest heart, But time goes by so quickly, and all too soon we must depart. But when it comes our time to leave, we'll leave them with our prayer That God will watch and guard them all, and keep them in His care... Amen.
