The United States and the European Alliance Since 1945

Publisher Marketing: Relations between the United States and its European allies in the post-war period have for the past decades been a lively field for research. This text explores the relations between the US and Europe since 1945. It looks at the alliance from different angles, at personal and economic relationships as well as those focusing on defence. It covers the language of power, and the very concept of a special relationship. Although not specifically looking at the relationship of the alliance with the Soviet Union its felt threatening presence can be assumed throughout.
