I Fired My Father!

"I Fired My Father" is written in the form of both an autobiography and a biography of an individual named Benjamin. The story of Benjamin is a compilation of a group of people from Chicago starting in the early 1960's. Where facets of the story are based on actual events by various persons in the group, there is no one person this story is about. The author, Steven Lee Douglas, himself a resident of Chicago during this period, used many of the places he knew as a boy to help make the story of Benjamin as real as possible for the reader's enjoyment.
