Richard Albert Blackwell III sipped his wine staring at the antique grandfather clock standing against the wall. Time was passing by slowly, and he had watched quite a bit of it. In fact, in a few months, Richard would be five thousand years old. Vampires rarely lived that long, and Richard currently was the eldest of them all. Five thousand years was a landmark achievement, because legend had it that they became day walkers at by that time. As a wealthy business man, Richard looked forward to being able to run his companies during the day time, but he knew something was missing. He knew he needed something to establish himself as a real person. Richard knew a billionaire couldn't show up one day out of the blue with no backstory. He needed stability. He needed validity.
