On the morning of September 1st, 1939 Germany invaded Poland, beginning what would become known as World War II. On that same morning, nuclear physicist Dr. Aschenbrenner did not show up to work in Berlin as scheduled. Worried the knowledge he possesses could end up falling into the enemy's hands Abwehr, the German military intelligence organization, has entrusted a young counterintelligence agent, Wilhelmina Voss, to find him and bring him back to Berlin as soon as possible. With her second identity secured as a nurse for the Red Cross she is thrust into a whirlwind of chaos filled with her childhood Jewish neighbors hiding in plain sight, her fake SS General boyfriend, and some of Germany's most talented nurses and soldiers. As the years rage on it is clear that the war seems to know no bounds for the endless atrocities around every corner. It will test every heart and soul of every German as the fatherland digs itself into a world of hurt. Will Dr. Aschenbrenner ever be found as Europe is torn to pieces yet again?
