The Other Side of the Lake (Volume 2)

Book 2 in the Click-Click series continues the story of how people from two completely different planets begin building a solid foundation for widespread cooperation between their worlds. When critical environmental problems face both planets, a small group of people come together at the isolated Earth/NT-3620b Shared Research Programme facility where they must learn how to work together as well as how to live together in a small experimental village. Interpersonal dramas provide valuable insight into each others' culture as well as voyeuristic entertainment. Both groups of people soon discover how difficult it can be for new relationships to form and how easy it is for old relationships to fall apart as they face a future that is anything but certain. In one short summer, both humans and off-worlders learn to adjust to each others' peculiarities as they cautiously begin to form friendships despite the vast evolutionary differences and the immense challenges in communication.
