Jim Henry began writing this book while he and his son Tyler were anxiously awaiting the release of J. K. Rowling's final Harry Potter book. Every night at bedtime, Jim would read a chapter or two of whichever book they were reading, and the best seller Harry Potter books were Tyler's favorite.
