The Dance of the Blue Crab

Marla Patterson is the first to arrive at the little Cape Cod fishing village where she and her two travel agent companions, Naomi and Reba, plan to spend their vacation. With her propensity for getting lost, Marla unwittingly spends the night in the wrong cabin. Frightened by the appearance of a man outside her window, she secures the door and windows before retiring but awakens to discover the figure of a man watching her from the bedroom doorway. A fearful search of the rooms reveals no one.
Once reunited with her friends, she is unwilling to accept their theory that the intruder was merely a curious beachcomber, especially when she learns the cabin belongs to Captain Jacob Mallory, a fisherman recently lost at sea. Was it just a beachcomber who somehow managed to enter the locked cabin that night, or was it the ghost of Captain Mallory?
Determined to find answers, Marla's curiosity soon becomes an obsession, drawing her back to the cabin again and again. Alternately welcomed, then rejected by his elusive presence, she not only discovers she's fallen in love with Jacob Mallory, but that her own life is now in danger.
