Dreams are a portrayal of a young girl, named Joan who lives in a small rural town in Cleveland, Texas, and whose dreams sometimes come true. At the age of 10 she has a dream about her father, and discovers that the dream has come true. Her dreams will affect her in ways that will bring heartache and despair to her family and friends. As you read her story, you will see how the dreams affect her and others around her. Because of her dreams, she loses her best friend, and is sent to an institution for dream analyses. Is she in control of these dreams, and responsible for the disaster that occurs? There is a fire; did she somehow cause this fire though her dreams? More disaster lurks on the horizon. What will happen to her, and what can she do to help the people she dreams about? Through it all, Joan fines friendship and true love, and for a while the dreams will stop.
