Claire Eppington has a unique occupation: a "Remains Location Specialist" for Cremation International. When Claire embarks on a journey down the Rio De Magdalena to a remote village in Colombia, she finds that her simple job has become life threatening. Her guide for this assignment is Paul Rodriguez, a missionary and a personal friend of the family. They are joined by Manny Villarreal, a photographer hired to document the ceremony. Claire discovers too late that Manny?even though rugged, smart, and handsome?has a dangerous past that haunts him. Claire and Manny become pawns in a deadly plot to overthrow the family drug cartel. When Manny discovers that Claire is targeted by a freelance assassin, he must decide where his loyalties lie. Claire, surrounded by death and fear, finds herself drowning in a river of sorrow, faced with the realization that her life depends on these strangers.
