Heavy Air is a thriller set in Baja California. The protagnist is a former military heliocopter pilot who finds himself duped into working for the corrupt brass of U. S. police department who are helping the Mexican polica move contraband across the border near San Diego. The former boss of five police departments and an advisor to a number of Mexican police departments, the author constructs his characters in the rich tradition of the "been there, seen that" storyteller. His first hand experiences with some of Mexico's largest police departments give him the backdrop to rare reality about a local crime boss, police brass and the Mexican policia mixed up in a drug driven money laundering scheme. Heavy Air is a dramatic story that builds with sharp intensity and exacting realism as the reader turns the pages and is introduced to some compelling and dangerous characters.
