Dexter Gordon plays Dale Turner, a brilliant saxophonist who is completely addicted to drink and drugs. He leaves America for Paris where he befriends a young Frenchman (Francois Cluzet) who takes him into his appartment and tries to help him overcome his destructive drug habits.
