Why That...?

At a point in time, in the course of growing up and manifesting as a son of God (Rom 8:14-19), you are likely to have been in situations where someone said "No" directly or tactically (indirectly), to you. That is, literally refused to accept an offer from you or grant you a request or help. In worst case scenarios even goes ahead to launch a verbal or physical attack on you. Or your case may be a marital disappointment or business failure orchestrated by a colleague, family relative or a trusted friend. Resulting in a wave of emotions like shame, excessive self-awareness, anger, self-pity, depression, fevers etc. There must have been a time also you declined to help someone in need for one reason or another resulting in personal internal conflict and sometimes a clear conflict with the would-be recipient. The face-off produces a tense atmosphere at work, church or home. This, more often than not hinders productivity. How we perceive the key issue or cause of the problem can shorten or prolong these emotions culminating in a biased and unsound state of mind, body and even your spirit man. Christ expects us to have a childlike attitude in these kinds of situations. A child rejoices, forgives and believes easily. Some children are equally persistent when they want something of strong interest to them. The LORD drew my attention to the 20/80% principle through a film. In all human relationships and interactions there is always a "gives and take process" every time you give aright, there is always a receiving, a blessing time for you somewhere. It doesn't have to be from the person you have given directly. Luke 6:32-33, Gal6:5-7. Giving could involve material things like clothes, money, shoe etc. It could also involve purely non material things like a smile, acts of love and kindness such as good advice, keeping of a promise etc. When someone gives to you (especially following the LORD's leading, he/she is opening up for him/herself a harvest which could be of various degrees and quantity. Remember that a good seed usually produces a good plant which usually yields quality fruits (future seeds). "Unless a corn of wheat falls to the ground and dies it abides alone" John12:24When God leads you like Elijah to someone to bless/help you (1Kings 17:1-18) and the person starts complaining or declines, it is not your loss but the person's own. She/ he just shut down an immediate opportunity to be blessed by God as a result of giving to you. So why take it personal? It is the person/group's 80% loss and your own immediate 20% gain."Oh just 20% gain?"
