Coulomb Modified Nuclear Scattering: off the Energy Shell

There exist experimental situations which involve scattering by additive interactions. Thus, it is of considerable interest to study Coulomb-nuclear problem within the framework of a separable model for nuclear interaction with particular emphasis on half- and off-shell effects which will provide an adequate and convenient starting point for rigorous calculations on few-body systems with charges. The calculation of scattering amplitudes and other related quantities for such problems need not start with kinetic energy as a zero order Hamiltonian. Instead, one begins by calculating states, Green's functions etc. for a model Hamiltonian which absorbs some of the interactions. This route is followed in studying the Coulomb distorted nuclear scattering to construct exact analytical expressions for interacting Green's function, off-shell Jost function, Jost solution and T matrix. This book is intended to broaden one's understanding of off-shell Coulomb nuclear scattering with particular emphasis on the construction of off-shell Jost solution. Graduate students as well as Research workers of Physics and Mathematical Physics will find these topics interesting.
