To the Rescue

After almost four decades of high-powered, top-level jobs, Sarah Dufendach found herself chafing at the external restraints of her career. A solicitation from The Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue, arriving almost by fate, led her to satisfy her long-forgotten love of horses. The Rescue, home to a hundred or more draft horses rescued from abuse, cruelty, and dangerous situations, is located in Howard County, Maryland. These stories are her personal experiences working alongside the Rescue staff and other volunteers to bring these abused horses back to good health and soundness
