Roads to Hell

The Rape of Persephone is a story that has echoed down the ages: a young girl imprisoned in hell who finds her own road to love. This retelling of the powerful myth takes place against the backdrop of the disastrous Allied assault on Sicily during World War Two. Three people struggle to survive in the chaos of war: a British officer caught up in the attack; a beautiful refugee who deals in sex and drugs; and a retired policeman who becomes a hitman for the Mafia. When a murder brings them together each one has to find their own answer to Persephone's dilemma: Is there love in hell?
