African-native Chijioke dreams of having everything a young man could want: money, a big house, a gorgeous girlfriend, and a full party schedule. To fulfill these dreams, he steals diamonds discovered on his family's ancient farming plot to leave for New York City. The diamonds are fenced without finesse, and the government seizes the land and its treasures. This puts not only his family in jeopardy but his father also in jail, and threatens his older brother, Abdalla's, university studies. Now in New York, only Chijioke's remaining cash and diamonds can provide his family food and schooling as well as assist his brother as a student--until Chijioke loses his fortune and spirals down to eking out life as a homeless man.
