Michael Francis is a disillusioned university student with a drug habit. His girlfriend of two years leaves him and his tutor tells him he will fail every subject at the end of the year if he doesn't get his act together. One night whilst driving home from a party, drunk and stoned, he knocks a female pedestrian down at a set of lights. Panicking, he leaves the scene of the crime and goes into hiding. He reads in the paper the following day that the woman he hit is seriously injured and in intensive care. The driver, who answers Michael's description, is being sought by police. Michael travels north in an attempt to evade the police. But everywhere he goes, trouble finds him. Hiding on Queensland's Gold Coast he becomes unintentionally embroiled in a highly illegal, exceedingly dangerous criminal undertaking that puts him on the police's Most Wanted list. Just when it seems that there is nowhere left for Michael to run, providence intervenes and he spies a dim light at the end of the tunnel. But could this be just an oncoming locomotive?
