Contributor Bio:  Slavitt, David R Originally from White Plains, New York, David R. Slavitt is a poet, novelist, critic, and translator who has authored over 100 literary works. Receiving his education from Andover, Yale, and Columbia, he is coeditor of the Johns Hopkins Complete Roman Drama in Translations series and the Penn Greek Drama Series. His honors include a Pennsylvania Council on Arts award, a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship in translation, an award in literature from the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, and a Rockefeller Foundation Artist's Residence. He lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and has taught at Columbia, Princeton, Bennington, and the University of Pennsylvania.
