Bury the Innocent

On the outskirts of town, on a deserted construction site, the partially buried body of a young woman is discovered. Though left for dead, she rests in a comatose state. The unlikely detective team of Sydney Holden and Bill Cosgrove are assigned to the case. Sydney is a third generation police officer. Though blonde, beautiful and female, she is not to be taken lightly. Bill is a devoted family man and thirty-five year, weathered, veteran of the force. The young woman is soon identified as Cassandra Zachary. As the investigation into Cassandra's assault begins, evidence begins to surface. Zach, her ex-husband and prime suspect, is left bewildered, questioning the life he had once shared with his wife, his first love. As she lay in a coma, her future uncertain, the detectives hit one dead-end after another until Sydney decides that it is time to find Cassandra's estranged family and dig into the past that she worked so hard to bury. Against her better judgment, Sydney allows Zach to accompany her on her cross-country investigation. Uncertain of what they will discover, they set out on a journey, one that will change all of their lives forever.
